Uppingham School’s extensive programme of sports pitch construction and renovation included the re-orientation of existing rugby pitches, land drainage installation and the construction of a new rugby pitch on adjacent agricultural land. Tim O’Hare Associates was commissioned as sports pitch consultant to assist with the design and implementation of the work.
Sports Pitch Survey – to evaluate the existing quality of the pitches and to determine the works required to improve their performance.
Soil Resource Survey – to provide baseline information on soil conditions and quantities for the construction of a new rugby pitch on adjacent agricultural land.
Sports Pitch Design – details of new levels, earthworks operations, drainage layout drawings, drains sections, inspection chambers, silt traps, outfalls, construction methodology, material specifications, grass establishment regime, maintenance programme.
Construction supervision – on-site supervision of the pitch construction and renovation works with sign-off reports for each phase.
Aftercare monitoring – site inspections during the establishment phase to ensure that the pitches are completed to specification and handed over to the maintenance team.
